NORSAFE - Privacy Notice


This Privacy Notice intend to provide information where Norsafe collect personal data from people outside the company; as well as how we use the information, and rights in accordance with applicable personal data protection regulations.

1. Data Controller
For the purpose of this privacy notice, Norsafe AS and subsidiaries (Norsafe LTD, Norsafe Academy Rosendal, Norsafe BV, Norsafe Hellas SA) are responsible data controller for the personal data provided by you when you are:

    - Visiting our Websites
    - Submitting your job application
    - Subscribing to our newsletter
    - Requesting product information on our Product Enquiry pages

And by us when we:

    - Register new supplier
    - Create new customer account

Norsafe will only use your personal data for the purposes they were collected. Norsafe will process your personal data in accordance with applicable laws on privacy.


2. Personal Data

In order to enable use of our Websites, handle supplier or customer communication and to evaluate job applicants we will collect and process certain information about you.
a. This information may include: name, title/position, email, phone number, employer or former employer’s names, and when related to job applications; your CV with education and other specific information you include.
b. When browsing our websites, we may collect and store your IP address, information about your browser settings, operating system type and version.


3. Purpose with processing personal data
We will only process your personal data for the purposes stated in this privacy notice. We use the personal data you provide to us or that we collect through your use of our websites for the following purposes:
a. To evaluate your job application and store it for potential vacancies in the future;
b. To respond to your applications and inquiries;
c. To keep in touch with our supplier’s representatives to follow up offers, orders and deliveries.
d. To keep in touch with our customer’s representatives to follow up offers, orders and deliveries.
e. To improve and optimize our Website and your experience using it;
f. To improve our communication with you. The e-mail address you provide when subscribing for our newsletter can be used to send you company news, updates, information about our products, Norsafe’s Events, newsletters etc.
g. For any other purposes for which we will notify you specifically at the time of collection or upon obtaining your consent, or as permitted or required by law, rule, regulation or any other legal process.


4. Legal grounds for processing

For processing activities stated in this privacy Notice, we base our legal grounds for processing on Consent, Legitimate interest, and legal obligation.

a.  Consent;
When applying for a job you are giving us consent to evaluate and store your personal data. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting Norsafe.     - Please be advised that the processing of job applications is dependent on the processing of certain information regarding the prospects, and that a withdrawal of consent may lead to your job application not being processed.
When subscribing to our newsletter, you are giving us consent to send you marketing information, you can unsubscribe at any time by following the link in each email

b. Legitimate interest
For the processing purpose stated under section 3 (b,c,d,e)  in this notice. We find the legal grounds for processing to be our Legitimate interest.
Processing is lawful when it is necessary for the purpose of our legitimate interests, as long as it does not contradict your interests.
For section 3 (b,c,d) You can contact us to restrict further processing at any time.
For certain processing purposes – e.g. to improve the Website (section 3(e))  - the legitimate interests of Norsafe, will constitute legal basis for processing as a supplement to consent.
This legal basis will also allow processing to e.g. prevent loss or damages to Norsafe or to prevent any actions that may compromise Norsafe’s property or the personal data of the other users of the Website.

c. Legal obligation
We might be obligated to process your personal data to comply with all applicable rules and regulations to which we are subject, e.g. statutory rules related to storage for accounting purposes, cf. (section 3 (c,d)).


5. Recipients of personal data

Your personal data will only be disclosed and processed by Norsafe employees, who through their role are associated with the purpose for processing.

We do not sell, exchange or otherwise share your personal information with any third party without your explicit consent. The exception is to the third parties that assist us in running our website, conducting our business, delivering our goods and services, as long as these parties treat the personal data in accordance with applicable laws on privacy, defined as contractual requirements in our data processing agreements.

You are entitled to request a report on what personal information we have about you by requesting a so-called registry extract. This can be made free of charge once a year.
You have the right to request that incorrect information about you shall be corrected,
You have the right to request removal of your personal information.
You have the right to withdraw your consent to processing of personal data and to prohibit the use of your personal information for direct marketing purposes.

You have the right to submit eventual complaints about our processing of your personal data to the national supervisory authority.

7. Retention period

We will retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purposes for processing as defined above, unless deleted earlier at your request. The personal data in a job application submitted through the Website will be deleted when the application procedure for the position in question has been deleted if you are not offered position, unless you consent to that we retain the application for up to 12 months after the submittal for the purpose of offering you any future vacancies.


8. Transfer to third Country

The information we collect when you are visiting our website can be stored, processed and transferred between all the countries in which we operate, to be used in accordance with this Privacy notice. However, Norsafe will not transfer the personal data you provide us to third parties in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA) without explicitly informing you about that transfer.


9. Protection of personal data

We take data protection seriously and have taken reasonable steps to protect your privacy, including physical, technical and organizational measures, to prevent loss, alterations, theft and unauthorized access to information stored and otherwise processed in relation to our processing activities of your personal data.


10. Links to third parties

We may, at our discretion, publish or offer third-party products on our website at our discretion. These third-party websites have their own, independent privacy rules. We therefore take no responsibility for the content and activities of these linked sites. However, as we want to protect the privacy of our site, we welcome comments on these websites.


11. Changes to this Privacy notice

Norsafe reserves the right to update or change this notice at any time. The most recent revision shall supersede any earlier version. The current version of the privacy notice will be available at Norsafe Privacy Notice page at all times.
